Once. MW4 Weapon Prestige has a single reset per gun; after that you level into Weapon Prestige Master, where Pyroclast Scatter (Master 150) and Pyroclast Cascade (Master 250) wait. Here's the full path, what resets and what you keep.
You prestige each weapon in MW4 once. Weapon Prestige has a single reset: level the gun to max, prestige it, and level it to max again. After that there is no second reset — the gun moves into Weapon Prestige Master, where you keep earning Master levels toward Pyroclast Scatter at Master 150 and Pyroclast Cascade at Master 250.
The full Weapon Prestige path

Max level depends on the gun: the M4 and HAN 86 cap at 72, the KG-7 Vulcan at 75. Check the gun's Progression screen for its number. You don't need to prestige your player level first.
What resets and what you keep
When you enter Weapon Prestige 1, the gun goes back to Level 1 and most regular attachments relock. You keep:
- camos, weapon blueprints, reticles, charms, decals and other cosmetics;
- Apex Attachments and eligible blueprint attachments;
- shared attachment unlocks on other compatible weapons.
How to prestige a weapon
- Level the weapon to max in Multiplayer or DMZ.
- Open Create-a-Class and select the weapon.
- Enter Gunsmith and open Progression.
- Select Weapon Prestige and confirm.
