MW4 Season 1 Start Date: The Nov 4 Clue and Your 12-Day Grind
Activision hasn't dated MW4 Season 1 yet, but the BO7 Season 6 timer ends November 4, which points to a launch window of roughly 12 days. Here's what that means for your leveling, camos and Warzone loadouts.

MW4 Season 1 does not have an official date yet. Activision's only wording is that it arrives "shortly after" the October 23 launch. The best clue so far is Black Ops 7's Season 6 Battle Pass timer, which runs out on November 4. If Season 1 lands then, you get about 12 days of pre-season Multiplayer before Warzone switches over to MW4. If you want your account ready for Warzone when that happens, you can grind those 12 days yourself or have our MW4 account leveling boostfrom $4.10 cover the rank climb while you play.
As of September 27, 2026, MW4 launches in 26 days. Here's what's confirmed, what's a guess, and how to use the gap.
What Changed: BO7's Last Season Has an End Date
Verdict: this is the strongest Season 1 clue we have, but it isn't confirmation.
Black Ops 7 Season 6: The Haunting went live on September 17. The in-game Battle Pass timer shows it ending on November 4. Warzone normally moves to the new game when Season 1 starts, so November 4 is the obvious guess for MW4 Season 1.
Here's how long the last three launches waited for Season 1:
| Game | Launch | Season 1 | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| MW2 (2022) | Oct 28 | Nov 16 | ~19 days |
| MW3 (2023) | Nov 10 | Dec 6 | ~26 days |
| BO6 (2024) | Oct 25 | Nov 14 | ~20 days |
| MW4 (2026) | Oct 23 | Nov 4? | ~12 days? |
A 12-day gap would be the shortest in years. Either the BO7 timer gets extended, or Infinity Ward is moving faster than usual. Nobody outside Activision knows which. Treat November 4 as a planning date, not a promise.
Why the Season 1 Date Matters for Your Grind
Verdict: Season 1 is when your MW4 progress starts counting in Warzone.
Three things are tied to Season 1:
- Warzone integration. When Season 1 starts, MW4's weapons, Operators and Battle Pass take over Warzone. Items from MW2, MW3, BO6 and BO7 are not expected to carry into the new Warzone. Guns you level in MW4 Multiplayer before then will be the ones you use in Warzone.
- BlackCell and Battle Pass stay locked until then. Vault Edition BlackCell includes 20 Tier Skips and 1,100 COD Points, but none of it works until Season 1 goes live. On launch day it does nothing for you.
- Last-gen Warzone shuts down. Warzone stops working on PS4 and Xbox One once Season 1 starts. If you're upgrading hardware, do it before then.
Every weapon you max before Season 1 is one fewer weapon to grind when Warzone and DMZ need your time too.
The Pre-Season Plan, Step by Step
Verdict: rank first, weapons second, camos third.
Before October 23
- PC players: turn on TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot now. RICOCHET won't let you play online without them. That was true in the beta, and the launch build works the same way.
- Lock down your account. Use a strong password and turn on 2FA on your Activision account. If you use any third-party service, including ours, you should already have this set up.
- Pre-load when it opens. Activision hasn't announced a pre-load date yet. Recent CoD games have opened pre-load about 48 hours before unlock.
October 16–22 (Campaign Early Access)
If you pre-ordered digitally, you can play the Campaign early. It doesn't unlock Multiplayer early for anyone. Finish the story this week so you don't spend launch-week Multiplayer time on it.
October 23 to Season 1
- Push your Soldier Rank first. New weapons, Perks, Killstreaks and Field Upgrades all unlock through rank. Beta progress doesn't carry over, so everyone starts at Level 1.
- Level the guns you'll use in Warzone. Don't spread your XP across the whole weapon list. Pick two or three you want in Warzone and max them, Apex Attachments included.
- Start mastery camos on your main weapon. Camo challenges take the most hours of any grind, so start early.
- Save your Tier Skips. They can't be used until Season 1 anyway.
If you're planning your double XP time, our MW4 launch plan for 2XP and the daily cap shows how to fit it into this window.
Twelve days goes quickly. If you play four nights a week, that's about seven sessions before Warzone moves to MW4.
Is Boosting Safe Right Now?
Verdict: the risk depends on the method, and no service can guarantee zero risk. Anyone who says otherwise is lying.
MW4 launches with the same RICOCHET system that already runs in BO7 and Warzone. On PC it uses a kernel-level driver and checks TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot. Activision has also:
- disrupted 375+ cheat reseller operations and shut down 31 primary cheat vendors
- handed out tens of thousands of hardware bans in a single week
- promised to keep updating anti-cheat through MW4 Season 1
There's also a rule about old bans. Accounts permanently banned in any CoD since MW (2019) may be blocked from MW4. If your account has a history, check that before you spend money on anything.
What RICOCHET is built to catch is cheat software, aim scripts and input devices like Cronus Zen and XIM. Our services use manual, legitimate gameplay by real players, with no cheats or outside tools. That's much lower risk than anything automated. It still isn't zero risk, and Activision's terms still apply. Bot lobbies are a separate case. We cover them in whether MW4 bot lobbies are safe from RICOCHET.
How Fast, and Is It Worth It?
Verdict: it's worth it if your time is limited and you want to be ready for Warzone.
Rough guide for the window:
| Goal | DIY reality | Boosted |
|---|---|---|
| Soldier Rank 1–55 | Many sessions spread over launch week | Priced per level; you set the target |
| 2–3 maxed Warzone guns | Doable in 12 days if you focus | Weapon leveling runs at the same time |
| One mastery camo | Unlikely before Season 1 for most players | Handled per weapon |
We won't make up hour counts before the game is out. Launch-week XP rates always change after the first patch. If you already play every night, you probably don't need help with rank. If you get six hours a week, the math is different. Once your rank is sorted, our MW4 weapon leveling boostfrom $4.99 can get your Warzone guns to max level before the season changes.
What to Expect Next
Verdict: watch for three announcements over the next four weeks.
- The pre-load date. Most likely sometime in the week of October 12.
- An official Season 1 date. Activision usually announces it in launch week.
- A Season 1 RICOCHET update. It will probably bring stricter enforcement right when the most players are online.
We'll update this page once Activision confirms the Season 1 date.
Getting to max rank before Season 1 means about 12 days of playing every night, and that's only if November 4 holds. If you'd rather use that time on the guns and camos you actually enjoy, our MW4 account leveling servicefrom $4.10 starts when the servers open on October 23.
