MW4 Mastery Camos List for All Modes: What Are All 13?
MW4 has 13 mastery camos: three each for Multiplayer, Warzone and DMZ, plus four Pyroclast Prestige camos. Here is the full list for every mode, what's confirmed and what's still unknown before the October 23 launch.

Modern Warfare 4 has 13 mastery camos. Multiplayer gets three (Mercurial Drift, Polyatomic Reforged, Orion Reforged). Warzone gets three (Parallax, Damascus Reforged, Empyros). DMZ gets three (Chiral, Ripple Tide, Helio). Then there are four Pyroclast Prestige camos (Pyroclast, Pyroclast Verge, Pyroclast Scatter, Pyroclast Cascade). That's the full MW4 mastery camos list for all modes as of September 30, 2026. The names come from Activision's Call of Duty: NEXT showcase on August 21. The actual unlock challenges haven't been published yet.
The short version: the names are locked in, but the requirements aren't. The grind starts from zero at launch on October 23, 2026. The same 13-camo split is listed on our MW4 mastery camo bundle pagefrom $303.00 if you want it all in one place. You don't need it to follow anything below.
MW4 mastery camos list: all modes at a glance
There are four tracks, and each ends in one top-tier camo.
| Track | Camo 1 | Camo 2 | Camo 3 | Camo 4 | When it opens |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Multiplayer | Mercurial Drift | Polyatomic Reforged | Orion Reforged | — | Launch, Oct 23 |
| Warzone | Parallax | Damascus Reforged | Empyros | — | When MW4 joins Warzone in Season 1 (exact date not final) |
| DMZ | Chiral | Ripple Tide | Helio | — | Launch, Oct 23 |
| Prestige | Pyroclast | Pyroclast Verge | Pyroclast Scatter | Pyroclast Cascade | Launch (requirements pending) |
About the order: the official showcase did not publish a tier order for any track. The order above is how the camos were shown, and it's what most outlets use. At least one site calls the Multiplayer sequence (Mercurial Drift, then Polyatomic Reforged, then Orion Reforged) confirmed. We haven't found that in Activision's own text, so treat the order as very likely, not official.
Why you'll see 9, 12 or 13 camos quoted
All three numbers are real. They just count different things.
- 9: Activision's multiplayer blog counts only the mode camos, three per mode across Multiplayer, DMZ and Warzone.
- 12: Early write-ups added three Prestige camos to the nine.
- 13: The official Prestige showcase clip actually names a fourth Prestige camo, Pyroclast Cascade. That makes 13 the most complete count.
If a guide stops at 12, it probably missed Cascade.
How MW4 mastery camos unlock: what's actually confirmed
The structure is confirmed. The numbers aren't.
Confirmed by Activision:
- Each weapon has one shared Camo Track, and it moves forward in Multiplayer, DMZ and Warzone. You don't grind the base camos three separate times.
- Filling that track unlocks the weapon's Mastery Camo Challenges.
- Mastery challenges are mode-specific. For example, Multiplayer challenges lead to the Multiplayer set, and they're separate from the DMZ and Warzone challenges.
- The Pyroclast camos are a separate track tied to Prestige.
Not confirmed yet:
- Kill counts, headshot totals or any per-challenge numbers
- How many weapons you need to finish for each mastery tier
- Which camos you need before you can unlock the next one
- Whether the Pyroclast camos come from player Prestige or weapon Prestige, and at which milestones
Any site quoting exact challenge counts for Mercurial Drift or Chiral today is guessing. Nothing official exists yet. The requirements are expected at or shortly after launch.
Which camo is the top tier in each mode?
If the showcase order holds, the top camos are Orion Reforged (Multiplayer), Empyros (Warzone), Helio (DMZ) and Pyroclast Cascade (Prestige).
A few name notes. Damascus Reforged brings back the Modern Warfare (2019) mastery camo, but this time it's a Warzone reward, not a Multiplayer one. Polyatomic and Orion are updated versions of the MWII/MWIII mastery camos. The other six mode camos are new names. And no, there's no Dark Matter this year. That camo belongs to the Black Ops games.
What is not a mastery camo
Several MW4 camos are floating around that people often mix up with mastery rewards:
- Litmus: a beta challenge camo, separate from all 13 mastery camos. Players who finished it report it took 1,500 Operator kills. Activision's public beta guide still hides that challenge, so the number is unofficial.
- Moonlit Pearl: an instant universal camo for buying the digital version early.
- Gilded Ruin: earned through a Black Ops 7 / Warzone challenge. It unlocks in MW4 at launch. Only the first 100,000 players to finish get the numbered Serialized version.
These are nice extras, but none of them count toward mastery.
Quick answers
Does beta progress count toward mastery camos? No. The beta never had the full camo grind, and everything resets for launch. Every weapon starts at zero on October 23.
Does camo progress carry over from Black Ops 7 or MW3? No. Weapon levels, camos and mastery progress all start fresh. The only crossover is universal reward camos like Gilded Ruin.
Can I grind every mastery camo in one mode? Only partly. The base Camo Track counts in any mode. Each mode's mastery set still needs that mode's own challenges.
Related questions
How long will it take to get every mastery camo? Nobody knows the real number yet, because the challenge counts haven't been published. Across a 33-weapon launch arsenal and four tracks, expect weeks, not days. Our MW4 camo grind time guide goes through realistic estimates.
Does leveling weapons in DMZ help my camo grind? Yes. DMZ counts toward the shared Camo Track, though its mastery challenges are only for DMZ. The trade-offs are covered in DMZ vs Multiplayer weapon progression.
When can I start the Warzone mastery camos? MW4 content joins Warzone with Season 1, shortly after launch. Until Activision confirms that date and how camos roll out there, don't assume Parallax is available on day one.
Will SBMM slow down my camo challenges? For headshot or long-range challenges, probably, since tougher lobbies make every kill harder. Some players switch to casual playlists, others grind with friends in private matches, and some use bot lobbies.
Finishing four mastery tracks across a full arsenal will be one of the longest grinds in MW4, whatever the final challenge numbers are. If you'd rather farm Camo Track challenges against bots than grind them out in public lobbies, our MW4 bot lobbiesfrom $4.99 are one option. Playing normally will get you there too.
