MW4 Beta Maps and Modes List: What's Playable Right Now?
The full MW4 beta maps and modes list: six Core 6v6 maps, Kill Block Gunfight, two Ground War maps and Warzone Resurgence on Zodiac, plus which modes farm XP fastest before the beta ends September 1.

The full MW4 beta maps and modes list is six Core 6v6 maps — Rooftops, Silkworm, Transit 213, Cachette, Lotus and Lithium — plus the dynamic Kill Block Gunfight map, two Ground War maps (Imjin Farmlands and Wolves Stadium), and Warzone Resurgence on the new Zodiac map, played across Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed, Search and Destroy, Inflation, Hijack, Combat Outpost and the Mobility Course.
That's the whole sandbox. The catch is the clock: the Open Beta runs from 10:00 AM PT on August 28 until 10:00 AM PT on September 1, which is roughly 96 hours to clear a 30-level reward track across nine modes. If your weekend is already booked, our MW4 Beta Level 20 Boostfrom $39.99 covers the Weekend One reward tier while you're at work, and you spend your own playtime on the maps you actually want to learn.
The complete MW4 beta maps and modes list
Verdict: six 6v6 maps, one Gunfight map, two Ground War maps, one Warzone map.
Core 6v6 maps
Activision confirmed six Core 6v6 maps across the Beta, spanning snow-covered New York rooftops, a dense South Korean shopping district, a covert armory outside a French rail terminal and a Mexican lithium refinery: Rooftops, Silkworm, Transit 213, Cachette, Lotus and Lithium. Lithium arrived with Weekend 2 alongside Hijack, Ground War and Warzone Zodiac Resurgence.
Quick reads on each, from the beta so far:
- Rooftops — vertical, close-to-mid range, connected roof and alley routes.
- Silkworm — more open, mid-to-long lanes with elevated angles.
- Transit 213 — trains, platforms and tight interior corridors. Infinity Ward added a dedicated Transit 24/7 playlist during Weekend 1, so you can farm it on repeat.
- Cachette and Lotus — Cachette joined the rotation on August 22 alongside Inflation and map voting; Lotus and Kill Block 3v3 Gunfight followed on August 23.
- Lithium — the Weekend 2 addition.
Kill Block
The beta includes traditional 3v3 Gunfight alongside a new 10v10 version, with the 10v10 playlist live from the start of Early Access and the wider Kill Block offering expanding as the beta continues. It's the closest thing MW4 has to a dedicated small-map XP blender.
Ground War and Warzone
Weekend Two adds Ground War: Combat Outpost, a 24v24 infantry and vehicle mode on Imjin Farmlands and Wolves Stadium, where teams capture and reinforce Outposts to create extra spawns and earn escalating support like local UAV coverage and armoured vehicles. Warzone joins from August 28 with 44-player Resurgence on Zodiac, a map built around a DRC Advanced Systems drone assembly HQ with offices, rooftops, manufacturing floors, tunnels, shoreline routes and a central rail system.
Modes
The six core multiplayer modes are Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed, Search and Destroy, and the new mode Inflation. Add Hijack, Combat Outpost, Kill Block Gunfight in 3v3 and 10v10, and the Mobility Course — a dedicated training space built around MW4's expanded Create a Class overhaul, where Operators are tied to individual loadouts and you can build up to 12 of them.
One honest caveat: Infinity Ward can keep changing featured playlists and live content while the Beta is running, so individual playlist availability may still rotate. Any list you read — including this one — is a snapshot.
Which maps and modes actually pay the most XP?
Verdict: objective modes on small maps beat TDM every time.
Hardpoint and Domination on Transit 213 or Rooftops give you kills and objective XP in the same 10 minutes. Search and Destroy is the worst grind in the beta — long rounds, no respawns, thin XP. Kill Block 10v10 is the volume option if you just want trigger time.
Why it matters: beta progression runs Level 1 to 30, with Weekend One capped at 20 and the final ten levels unlocked in Weekend 2, and levelling unlocks weapons, Equipment, Perks, Field Upgrades, Killstreaks and Beta Rewards. Full details on pacing are in our breakdown of how long it takes to reach Level 30 in the MW4 beta, and if you're picking what to level, start with the MW4 best guns in beta tier list.
Grinding the rotation yourself — pros and cons
- ✅ You learn the maps before October 23 launch, which is the entire point of a beta.
- ✅ Free, on your own schedule, no third party involved.
- ✅ You get a real read on Gunsmith and Apex Attachments before spending money on the full game.
- ❌ 96 hours of calendar time, and most of it lands on a working week.
- ❌ Playlist rotation means the map you want may not be up when you log in.
- ❌ Player levels and weapon unlocks reset when the beta ends — only eligible cosmetic Beta Rewards stay tied to your Activision Account and unlock when MW4 launches on October 23. Miss the window and the skins are gone.
Is buying a beta boost safe, or will you get banned?
Straight answer: no boosting service anywhere can promise you a ban-proof account, and anyone who says "100% safe" is selling you a feeling, not a fact. Here's what we can say plainly.
Activision's terms don't love account sharing, and PC MW4 runs hard security checks — TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot must be enabled or you can't play the Beta online at all. That's an anti-cheat environment, not an anti-boost one, but it tells you how tightly the client is monitored.
What actually reduces risk:
- No cheats, no injectors, no unlock tools. Ever. That's what gets accounts permanently banned.
- Manual play only. Real players, real matches, human input.
- Prefer services that don't need your password. Our MW4 Bot Lobbiesfrom $4.99 run on your own account with you in the driver's seat — nothing changes hands.
- Enable 2FA and change your password after any service that did require access.
If a store won't discuss risk honestly, that's the tell. We'd rather you buy with clear eyes.
