MW4 Prestige Rewards List: What's Actually Confirmed So Far?

The full MW4 prestige rewards list isn't out yet. Here's what is confirmed: Prestige Tokens, a 20% XP boost on Classic, Ghost skins, and four Pyroclast Prestige Mastery camos, plus the parts that are still rumour.

MW4 Prestige Rewards List: What's Actually Confirmed So Far?

Activision hasn't published the complete MW4 prestige rewards list yet. Here's what is confirmed or credibly reported: Classic Prestige gives you a Prestige Token, a 20% XP boost, exclusive rewards and a Ghost Operator skin. Regular Prestige gives a smaller subset of rewards. The Prestige Mastery track has four Pyroclast camos. Exact tier-by-tier unlocks won't be known until Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23. All of it starts at Level 55, so getting through Soldier Rank 1–55 comes first. You can grind it yourself or use an MW4 account leveling boostfrom $4.10 if launch week is short on hours.

Below is everything we could verify, split into confirmed, reported and unknown. Some of these sources contradict each other, so read the status column.

MW4 prestige rewards list: confirmed vs reported

Short version: the structure is confirmed, but most of the item-by-item list is not.

Bottom line: if a site shows you a full 1-to-10 table with a calling card on every rung, it's guessing. Activision hasn't released that table.

What Classic Prestige actually gives you

This is the stronger reward path, and Activision is upfront about it.

You reach Level 55, reset your rank and re-lock every weapon, attachment and piece of equipment. In return you get a Prestige Token, an XP multiplier for the whole Prestige, and access to rewards that Regular players don't get. Activision's own wording was that greater rewards await those who choose the harder path.

The Prestige Token matters most in practice. In past Classic systems, it let you permanently unlock one item so it never re-locked. Expect the same here, but nobody has confirmed how many tokens you can bank or which items count.

What Regular Prestige gives you

Regular Prestige is the convenient option, and it pays out less.

You go back to Level 1 but keep all your Create-a-Class unlocks. There's no XP boost, and you only get a subset of the Prestige rewards and milestones. The skin reward is the one item most people know about. The reveal coverage named a one-time Ghost skin. A widely shared community breakdown says Regular gives the Ghost SAS skin and Classic gives that skin plus a separate Classic Ghost skin. That matches the "subset" wording, but it hasn't appeared on an official reward page.

Regular Prestige also isn't officially linked to Prestige Mastery. Official copy ties Prestige Mastery to the Classic path. If you want the Pyroclast camos, assume Classic is the way to get them until Activision says otherwise.

If you're still deciding which path fits how you play, our guide on how to prestige in MW4 and which path to choose goes through the trade-off in detail.

The Pyroclast Prestige camos: names confirmed, rules aren't

You can earn four camos. Nobody knows the exact rules yet.

The Prestige Mastery showcase at Call of Duty: NEXT on August 21 showed Pyroclast, Pyroclast Verge, Pyroclast Scatter and Pyroclast Cascade. They're separate from the nine mode-based mastery camos (three each for Multiplayer, Warzone and DMZ), which makes 13 in total.

What's missing:

  • Prestige level gates. No official tier is attached to any of the four.
  • Per-weapon or account-wide. Sources disagree on this.
  • Which path. Most coverage links them to Classic. One major outlet's camo guide says Classic in one paragraph and Regular in another. We're going with Classic, because that's the path the official copy connects to Prestige Mastery.

A common guess is that Pyroclast unlocks around your first Prestige and the other three at bigger milestones. It's a reasonable guess with nothing official behind it.

What doesn't carry over

Nothing from your progression transfers. Black Ops 7 rank, Prestige and Master Prestige status don't carry into MW4. Beta levels are wiped too. Everyone starts at Level 1 on October 23, so nobody gets a head start on the prestige rewards. Beta cosmetics like the Dread Tiger skin and the Beta Forged Han 86 blueprint do carry over, but they're separate from Prestige.

Related questions

How many prestiges does MW4 have? The figure reported at reveal was 10 Classic Prestiges before Master Prestige. Activision hasn't put that number on a public reward breakdown yet, so check the in-game prestige screen at launch.

Can you switch from Regular to Classic later? Nobody has confirmed this. GamesRadar points out it's still unclear whether Regular players can go back and earn the Classic-only rewards.

What's the max level before you can prestige? Level 55. That's the military rank cap Activision confirmed, and the prestige prompt appears once you reach it.

Quick answers

Is there a Ghost skin for prestiging in MW4? Yes. A Ghost skin was named at reveal as a Prestige reward, and community reports say Classic players get a second, Classic-exclusive Ghost skin.

Are the Pyroclast camos Prestige rewards? Yes. They're the Prestige Mastery camo set. Their unlock requirements still haven't been published.

When will the full list be out? Probably on or just before October 23. When the game goes live, the in-game prestige screen will be the most reliable source.

For most players, the slow part of any prestige reward is the Level 1 to 55 climb, and on Classic you do it again every time you reset. If launch week is short on playtime, our Soldier Rank leveling servicefrom $4.10 is one option for getting to 55. A booster plays the matches normally to get you there.
