Do BO7 Camos and Weapon Levels Carry Over to MW4?
No — BO7 weapon levels, camos and blueprints don't carry into Modern Warfare 4 multiplayer. Here's exactly what transfers, what dies on October 23, and what's still worth grinding in Season 6.

No — your Black Ops 7 weapon levels, camos, blueprints and Operators do not carry into Modern Warfare 4 multiplayer. MW4 largely resets progression at launch, with most BO7 weapons, Operators, blueprints and camos staying behind: unlocked weapons, attachments, weapon levels, blueprints and standard camos won't be available in MW4 multiplayer, and Operators plus their cosmetics stay in the old game too. MW4 launches October 23, 2026 on all platforms, with digital pre-orders getting campaign early access on October 16.
So the clock on your BO7 arsenal is real. Anything you want permanently attached to your BO7 profile — mastery camos, Prestige rank, Dark Ops cards — has to be finished before the population walks out the door. That's roughly a month of evenings if you're grinding solo, or a couple of days with a BO7 weapon leveling servicefrom $29.99 doing the XP work while you play the parts you actually enjoy.
What actually carries over
The confirmed list is short. Painfully short.
- COD Points — they follow you as long as you stay on the same platform, since CP is tied to the platform you bought it on.
- Unspent Double XP tokens — 2XP tokens transfer, so hoarding a stack now makes early MW4 progression faster.
- Pre-order items — the Hunter Killer Operator and two universal camos tied to MW4 pre-orders move forward. Those camos have been reported as Gilded Ruin and Moonlit Pearl.
That's it. Nothing about your 30-weapon mastery grind survives the jump.
Verdict: stop burning 2XP tokens on BO7 guns you don't care about. Spend them on the camo tracks you want to finish, and bank the rest for MW4's level 1 grind.
The Warzone caveat everyone misunderstands
Warzone is the one place your BO7 gear keeps breathing. Historically, older weapons, their blueprints and unlocked camos stay usable in the battle royale modes, along with previously unlocked Operators and skins. That makes Battle Pass rewards and CP purchases still worth using in Warzone when it migrates to MW4 — although there's no confirmed date for that migration, with mid-November the current best guess.
Be careful with the "total Warzone wipe" posts. What's officially confirmed is that MW4 ships with a brand-new multiplayer progression system where you level weapons, earn Apex Attachments and Prestige from scratch, and that Warzone integrates MW4 in Season 1 — the widely-shared "nothing carries forward, full hard reset" claim is a leak, not an Activision statement. Treat it as unconfirmed until it isn't.
One more platform note: Activision is ending Warzone on PS4 and Xbox One, playable through the end of BO7 Season 06. If you're still on last-gen, sort your migration before then.
What's still worth grinding in BO7
Season 06 is the last call. The Haunting update landed on September 17 with major Ranked Play changes plus Zombies and Endgame updates, and the final season also adds new Prestige Title challenges across the modes. The headline one is Arsenal Incarnate: unlock the final Mastery Camo in all four modes for every weapon. That is a monstrous ask with four weeks on the clock.
Priority order if you're racing the reset:
- Event camos. Camo Costume Party event camos and Weekly Challenge camos are the fastest pool — short weapon-class challenges versus the Ranked and Winstreak camos that need sustained play across a shortened Ranked season.
- New guns. Season 06 added the VMP SMG, TR51 Para AR, Arcblade melee and Roc 20mm special weapon, plus three more guns through Weekly Challenges — the VMP sits at Battle Pass Page 3 HVT and the TR51 Para at Page 6 HVT.
- Mastery camos. Remember that BO7 tracks four mastery camos per mode across Campaign, Multiplayer, Zombies and Warzone, with each mode's ladder tracked separately per weapon. Four times the work most players budget for.
- Prestige and cards. Account-level stuff that shows on your profile. Our Prestige Master boostfrom $4.90 exists for exactly this window, and the level 1000 route is broken down here.

Grinding it out manually: pros and cons
Pros
- Zero cost beyond your time, and lobbies are still full pre-MW4.
- Event and weekly camos are genuinely quick wins.
- You learn the new Season 06 maps before MW4 poaches your muscle memory.
Cons
- Four mastery ladders per weapon means the "finish everything" goal is unrealistic for most accounts in four weeks.
- Ranked camos need a shortened, sweatier season — Season 6 also added new Ranked SR penalties based on scoreboard placement and opponent ranks.
- Post-October 23 the player base thins out fast, and grinding a quiet game is miserable.
Quick answers
Do my BO7 camos transfer to MW4 multiplayer? No. Standard and mastery camos stay in BO7. Activision hasn't confirmed any full camo carry-forward, and while mastery camos have historically followed weapons across integrated titles, treat cross-title camo carry as unconfirmed until it's officially stated.
Should I save my Double XP tokens? Yes, mostly. Since everyone starts MW4 from zero, tokens are worth far more in the new game — keep a healthy stack, and only spend what you need to close out BO7 camos you care about.
Does my Prestige reset when Season 06 ends? No — seasonal updates don't wipe your account; Prestige and unlocks carry across BO7 seasons. What changes is how easy grinding is once the population moves to MW4.
Related questions
Is Season 06 definitely the last BO7 season? It's the last major one. Season 6 was expected to be the final major update before Activision turns to Modern Warfare 4, and it adds the final set of Prestige Title challenges. Expect smaller reloaded patches, not a Season 7 content drop.
Will MW4 have Prestige? Almost certainly, but the details aren't public. MW4's full Prestige system hasn't been detailed yet, though the game will include another substantial levelling process — which is where saved XP boosts help.
Is it worth buying BO7 bundles now? Only if you play Warzone. Cosmetics bought today keep working in the battle royale side per the carry-forward pattern above, but they won't dress up your MW4 multiplayer loadout.
Finishing a full mastery ladder on a single BO7 weapon runs several hours, and Arsenal Incarnate across four modes and every gun is a many-evenings project you probably don't have time for before October 23. If you'd rather spend the final month of BO7 actually playing it, our BO7 weapon levels boostfrom $29.99 handles the XP grind through manual play with you in control of the account.
