Camo Costume Party (WZ S6): 9 Challenges, Arcblade by Oct 8
Warzone Season 6's Camo Costume Party needs just nine challenges for the Arcblade melee — but full completion spans 36 challenges across four modes, and the event dies on October 8, 2026. Here's the fastest route.

Nine challenges. That's the whole Arcblade requirement. You only need to complete nine total event challenges across any combination of the available modes — you don't need to finish every challenge in a specific mode. The catch is the clock: Camo Costume Party started on September 17 at 9 AM PT and runs 21 days, ending Thursday, October 8 at 10 AM PT. That's a two-week window from today, and if you're still chasing older cosmetics on top of it, our Apocalypse camo unlockfrom $0.40 clears that backlog so your remaining event days go entirely into the Arcblade and the animated camos.
This is the last big camo event of the Black Ops 7 era. Season 6 launched on Sept. 17, 2026 and is the final big update before Activision fully shifts focus to MW4. Miss the window and you're relying on a maybe — once the event is over, the Arcblade could appear through the Armory Challenges, which is not a promise anyone should plan around.
What changed on September 17
Season 6: The Haunting replaced the usual XP reward track with a pure camo-challenge grind. Camo Costume Party is built entirely around weapon camo challenges — instead of progressing through a normal XP reward track, you complete challenges for specific weapon classes across Co-Op and Endgame, Multiplayer, Zombies and Warzone. There are 36 visible challenges in total, nine per mode, and finishing a complete nine-challenge mode track unlocks an animated mastery camo.
The reward tiers stack, and they're not equal:
- Any 9 challenges → the Arcblade melee weapon
- All 9 in one mode → that mode's animated Mastery Camo plus 10,000 XP
- All 36 across four modes → the hidden Oozed camo, the event's Dark-Matter-style ultimate reward
For Warzone specifically, the standard reward is Patchwork, while completing all nine challenges unlocks the animated Death Row camo.
The rest of the patch matters too, because it changes how you fill those challenge trackers. Haven's Hollow has been reworked into Haunted Hollow, a darker Halloween version with new mechanics like the Ghost Train, Trick or Treat Pumpkins and several altered POIs. Meta-wise, the crutch guns got gutted: the AN-94's maximum damage dropped from 41 to 38 with shorter damage ranges, and its headshot multiplier fell from 1.3x to 1.2x. The VST and REV-46 were also nerfed, while underused guns like the Voyak KT-3 and MPC-25 got buffs. Translation: the gun you cleared last season's challenges with may no longer be the right tool.
The fastest route to nine
Cherry-pick across modes — never grind one mode for the Arcblade. The event tracker doesn't care where the nine come from, so the optimal play is picking the nine softest requirements you personally hit during normal play.
The Warzone nine are: ground-loot Assault Rifle eliminations, early-circle SMG kills, Top 10 shotgun eliminations, LMG kills without reloading, marksman kills without an optic, sniper headshots, Bounty Target pistol kills, moving launcher/Special kills, and melee kills shortly after switching weapons. Read that list twice before you commit — "Top 10 shotgun" and "Bounty Target pistol" are placement- and contract-dependent, which means dead lobbies waste your time.
My route, in order:
- Start in Resurgence. Resurgence-style modes provide more opportunities to repeatedly attempt difficult weapon challenges — more lives, more engagements, less 20-minute nothing.
- Use PvE for the ugly ones. Zombies and Endgame can be faster because their PvE enemies are easier to tackle than real players.
- Bank objective modes in Multiplayer. Objective playlists like Domination and Hordepoint naturally create opportunities for objective kills, headshots, and weapon-specific eliminations.
- Stop at nine. Take the Arcblade, then decide if a full mode track is worth it.
Two challenges break the "it'll happen naturally" rule: the Assault Rifle challenge sends you into T.E.D.D. Trials, and the Launcher/Special-weapon challenge sends you into Hordepoint. Queue those deliberately or they'll sit at 0% until the event ends.
Full completion is a different animal
Oozed is the real grind, and Zombies is where it eats your weekend. Zombies becomes the major time investment: three challenges require 500 eliminations each, Pistols require 300 kills and Melee another 250. That's over 2,000 eliminations in one mode alone before you touch the other three tracks. On the flip side, Warzone has the smallest raw tracker total if you want to complete one full mode, so Death Row is the cheapest animated camo on the board for a Warzone main.
How long does all 36 take? Nobody has a verified average, and I won't fabricate one. Based on the raw tracker totals above, a competent player looking at 2,000+ Zombies kills plus 27 other challenges is realistically in the double-digit-hours range across two weeks — treat that as an estimate, not a stat. The Arcblade alone? A focused evening or two.
Pros and cons of grinding it yourself
Pros
- The nine-challenge Arcblade tier is genuinely quick and doable solo
- Challenge progress rides along with normal play in Resurgence and objective MP
- You learn the post-nerf meta guns while you do it
- Each completed mode track also pays 10,000 XP
Cons
- Hard deadline: the event runs until October 8, 2026, no extensions promised
- Placement-gated Warzone challenges (Top 10, Bounty Targets) depend on lobby luck
- Zombies' 500-kill challenges are pure repetition
- T.E.D.D. Trials and Hordepoint force you into playlists you may not enjoy
Is buying camo help safe?
Honest answer: no service on earth is ban-proof, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling you fiction. Camo work is normal gameplay — challenges completed by a human with a controller, no scripts, no injectors. That's the only version worth buying. Account sharing does violate Activision's terms, so the honest framing is low risk when done manually and quietly, not zero risk. Season 6 also tightened the PC security side: in-game notifications were expanded with details about TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot requirements to help players resolve security configuration issues. If you want the longer breakdown of how services and detection actually interact, we covered it in can you get banned for buying a Warzone bot lobby.
What to expect next
Plan around the calendar, not the content drip. There may not be a Reloaded update — leaks suggest Season 6 is designed to close out BO7's remaining content rather than follow the usual mid-season structure. Ranked is compressed too: the shortened Resurgence Ranked season runs a four-week format, giving developers a chance to test more aggressive SR adjustments at Diamond and above, and Season 6 increases deployment fees in Diamond and above, reduces maximum earnable SR, and disables all SR Challenges. If you're splitting time between camos and climbing, a Resurgence ranked boostfrom $4.99 handles one side while you handle the other. Full seasonal context lives in our Warzone Season 6 breakdown.
Nine challenges for the Arcblade is fair. Thirty-six challenges — including 2,000+ Zombies kills — inside a 21-day window, while ranked is also on a timer, is where most players quietly give up. If you'd rather spend your last BO7-era weekends actually playing Warzone, our camo unlock servicefrom $0.40 grinds the challenge lists for you so the cosmetics land before the event closes.
