Do Warzone Camos Carry Over to MW4 in 2026?
No. Legacy weapon camos won't carry into Warzone when MW4 integrates on November 6, 2026. Operators, skins, blueprints, COD Points and 2XP tokens do. Here's what that means for your last weeks of BO7-era Warzone.

No. Weapon camos you earned in Black Ops 7, BO6, MW3 and MW2 will not carry into Warzone when Modern Warfare 4 integrates with Season 1 on November 6, 2026. Your Operators, Operator skins, weapon blueprints, COD Points and unspent 2XP tokens do carry over. That makes the next two and a half weeks your last chance to use the camos you have now. The Operator skin from a nuke is one of the few big rewards that survives the switch, which is why our Warzone Nuke Boostfrom $59.99 is the service we'd look at first if you're short on time.
This wasn't always the plan. Activision's first Carry Forward blog post said legacy camos would make it across. Then on September 28, 2026 it added a correction calling that claim "incorrect" and apologised. Plenty of players who'd finished mastery grinds were annoyed, and with good reason.
Quick-start checklist before November 6
- Pick the camos you actually want to use. Anything you unlock after Season 1 starts will only show up in BO7 itself.
- Hold your 2XP tokens. Unspent player, weapon and Battle Pass tokens carry over and give you a head start on the MW4 reset.
- Finish Champion's Quest now if you want the Axia skin. Your 30-win progress is seasonal, and the season is nearly over.
- Don't panic-spend COD Points. They transfer, but only within the same platform family (PlayStation to PlayStation, Xbox to Xbox).
- Last-gen players, take note. Warzone on PS4 and Xbox One stops being playable when Season 1 starts.
What carries over and what doesn't
Verdict: your Operators and blueprints come with you. Your weapon camos don't.
| Item | Carries into MW4-era Warzone? | Catch |
|---|---|---|
| Legacy weapon camos (mastery, event, Champion's Quest) | No | Confirmed by Activision's Sept 28 correction |
| Operators and Operator skins (MW2, MW3, BO6, BO7) | Yes | A new Operator Skin Toggle lets other players swap non-MW4 skins for MW4 Operators on their own screen |
| Weapon blueprints | Yes | Legacy guns are locked to a preset five-attachment build |
| COD Points | Yes | Same platform family only |
| 2XP tokens | Yes | Reported to count down only while you're in a match |
| BO7 camos inside BO7 | Yes | They stay in BO7 and don't move to MW4 |
The skin toggle is worth noting. Your Axia Grimm skin carries over, but anyone who turns the toggle on will see an MW4 Operator in its place. You'll still see it yourself.
Why legacy weapons feel like second-class guns
Verdict: you can still use them, but you can't build them the way you want.
Every legacy weapon gets one five-attachment version, unlocked through the Armory. Legacy blueprints keep the attachments they already have. You don't get full Gunsmith freedom, and reports say MW4 features like prestige camos and build codes won't work on old guns either. In practice, your BO7 meta build turns into a fixed loadout you can't tweak.
Meanwhile, MW4 brings a brand-new camo system: nine mastery camos, three each for Multiplayer, Warzone and DMZ. In the beta, the Warzone track ran Parallax, Damascus Reforged, Empyros. Treat those names as provisional until launch. Everyone starts from zero.
If a reward is an Operator skin or a blueprint, it's a long-term unlock. If it's a camo, it's a three-week rental, at least in Warzone.
What this means if you're buying a service right now
Verdict: buy for the next three weeks, not the next year.
- Camo services: Our BO7 Apocalypse camo servicefrom $0.40 still makes sense if you play BO7 or want the camo for the rest of Season 6. It won't follow you into MW4's Warzone. If that's what you're paying for, skip it.
- Nuke service: The rewards split down the middle. The Axia Grimm Operator skin is an Operator skin, so it carries over. The Containment Crew weapon camos don't. And because the 30-win route resets every season, you have very little time left.
- Champion's Quest in MW4: Not officially confirmed for MW4's Warzone yet. Some stores are already taking pre-orders, but that isn't the same as Activision announcing it.
- Safety: Same as any season. No service is ban-proof, and anyone who says otherwise is selling you something. Our breakdown of whether a Warzone nuke service is safe to buy covers the real risks.
The game is still getting patches before the handover. The October 14 update buffed the DS20 Mirage, REV-46 and Ryden 45K and nerfed the VMP, M10 Breacher and Mammoth. So if you want to wear your current camos while they still count, the meta is still worth playing.

Will Verdansk and Rebirth Island stay after MW4? Yes. Both stay in rotation alongside Hajin, the new large Battle Royale map that's also MW4's DMZ map, and Zodiac, the new Resurgence map. Vondel returns in Season 2, expected early next year.
When does current Warzone actually end? Reports put the end of BO7's final season around November 4, with MW4 Season 1 starting November 6. Pre-installing MW4 doesn't change your Warzone right away. The new version only goes live with Season 1.
Is Ranked Play still running until then? We cover that in Is Warzone Ranked Play Still Available Before MW4?. The short version: if you want end-of-season rewards, don't leave it to the last week.
Do my MW4 beta rewards carry over? The cosmetics do, including the Dread Tiger Operator skin and the Beta Forged Han 86 blueprint. Your beta rank and weapon unlocks are wiped.
Quick answers
Can I still use my BO7 camos after MW4 launches? Yes, in BO7 itself. Just not in the MW4-era Warzone.
When does MW4 launch? Most reports say October 23, 2026, though at least one source lists October 22. Either way, Warzone integration waits until Season 1 on November 6.
Is any camo guaranteed to carry over? Only MW4 pre-order camos such as Moonlit Pearl and Gilded Ruin, and those are MW4 unlocks, not carried-forward ones.
Earning a Champion's Quest contract on your own means 30 Core Battle Royale wins or a five-win streak, and you'd have to do it before the season ends in early November. If you'd rather lock in the Axia skin while it still counts, our Warzone Nuke Boostfrom $59.99 can get it done before the MW4 handover.
