Hydra in ARC Raiders
The Hydra is a relentless, unmoving ARC machine found only on top of the ARC Frigate during the Frigate map condition. It rises from the hull and lays down overwhelming fire in three directions, guarding the Frigate's cargo for the machines working it. Boarding the Frigate (the 2.0 quest of the same name) means dealing with it.
Hydra weak points
The frontal and side plating is nearly impervious; the rear is unarmored. The deck has cover to hide behind between its firing cycles.
How to kill the Hydra
Treat it as a raid mechanic, not a gunfight: use the deck cover to wait out each barrage, take shots in the lull, and have one Raider hold its attention while another works around to the unarmored back — it dies quickly from behind. Known issue at launch: it can track players through walls in the Cargo area without being able to damage them.
