BO7 Permanent Unlock Tokens: How to Spend All 10 (2026)

Spend every Black Ops 7 Permanent Unlock Token on a Level 45+ item you use in every single loadout. Here's the priority order, why weapons are usually the worst pick, and the mistakes that waste a token you can never get back.

BO7 Permanent Unlock Tokens: How to Spend All 10 (2026)

**Spend every Permanent Unlock Token in Black Ops 7 on an item locked behind Level 45 or higher that you use in every loadout — wildcards and perks first, weapons dead last.** You get exactly one token per Prestige, they cannot be refunded or reassigned, and they stop mattering entirely once you hit Prestige Master. That last part is the key: ten tokens is the total lifetime budget of a grind that only exists between Prestige 1 and Prestige 10, so if the reset cycle is what's slowing you down, our BO7 account leveling and Prestige boostfrom $4.90 can carry you through the ladder while you keep playing the loadouts you actually like.

The token system is small, permanent, and easy to fumble. Most players burn their first one on the gun they happen to be using in week one, then regret it three Prestiges later. Here's the version that doesn't waste anything.

Quick-start checklist

  1. Hit Level 55, then choose to Prestige — this resets your level and normal unlocks, keeps weapon progression and Operators, and awards one Permanent Unlock Token.
  2. Open your Loadout, find the item you want, and hit the Permanent Unlock button. Confirm, and it stays unlocked through every future Prestige reset.
  3. Sort candidates by unlock level. Anything below Level 40 is a bad target — you'll re-earn it in a couple of sessions anyway.
  4. Prioritise Wildcards → Perks → Scorestreaks → Weapons, in that order.
  5. Skip any weapon you already own a Blueprint for. Blueprints unlock the gun for you at no token cost.
  6. Stop planning at token 10. At Prestige Master every item in the progression tree unlocks permanently with no tokens needed.

How the tokens actually work

Verdict: they're a bridge, not a reward. Tokens start flowing once you enter Prestige mode — reaching Level 55 and choosing to reset — and each Prestige level grants one token that permanently unlocks any single item in the progression tree, weapon, perk or wildcard, usable from Rank 1 in every future Prestige, up to ten items by Prestige 10. Vault Edition owners also start with a bonus token on day one.

The reason the order matters: Prestiging drops your account level back to 1 and relocks every level-based unlock. So a token's real value is (unlock level) × (how often you use the item) × (Prestiges remaining). A Level 53 perk you run in all six loadouts is worth roughly ten times a Level 20 shotgun you touch twice a Prestige.

Rule of thumb: if you can't picture using the item in your very next match at Rank 1, it isn't a token target.

The priority order

PickTypeUnlock levelWhy it earns a token
Perk GreedWildcard53Swaps Scorestreaks for three extra Perks earned at 200, 400 and 600 Score — and it's locked until Level 53
NinjaPerk (slot 2)53An Enforcer Perk locked at Level 53, so without a token you only get ~10 matches with it per Prestige
GhostPerklate trackWidely rated one of the most useful perks in the game — verify the exact level in your own progression tree before committing
MPC-25SMG55The final unlock in the track, which means you get it, Prestige, and lose it again immediately
XR-3 IonSniper43Normally relocks on reset; a token keeps it forever — only worth it if you genuinely main snipers

Wildcards top the list because they change how your whole class is built, not just what you're holding. Perks come next for the same reason. Weapons are the weakest category, and the reason is boring but important: Blueprints from the Battle Pass and store permanently unlock the base weapon anyway. Check your Armory before you spend.

One honest caveat on Perk Greed: even with it unlocked from Rank 1, it only really shines mid-to-late in a Prestige cycle, because you need enough perks unlocked to actually fill the slots. It's still the best long-term pick, just not an instant power spike the second you reset.

Weapon Prestige tokens are a different thing entirely

This trips people up constantly. Account Prestige and Weapon Prestige are two separate tracks with two separate token types.

When you prestige a weapon, its level returns to 1, all builds and Blueprints reset, and every earned attachment relocks and has to be re-earned — with the exception of Optics, which stay unlocked once obtained. Each weapon Prestige hands you a permanent attachment unlock token, a unique Prestige attachment, a unique camo and a weapon-specific charm. Treat that attachment token exactly like the account version: spend it on the late-unlocking attachment you bolt onto every build, not a laser you get at weapon level 4.

And note the split at the top of the ladder — once Prestige Master is reached, weapons and scorestreaks stay permanently unlocked at the account level, but attachments are still governed by individual Weapon Prestige progression. Account-level tokens go obsolete. Weapon tokens don't. If you want a full arsenal at Prestige Master without re-grinding each gun, that's what our BO7 weapon leveling servicefrom $29.99 handles. For the account side of the climb, our Prestige Master level 1000 guide breaks down the full ladder.

Timing: tokens matter less than they did in Season 1

Blunt verdict — the calendar is now part of the maths. Black Ops 7 Season 06 launched on September 17 at 9AM PT across all platforms, bringing The Haunting and nightfall on Endgame's Avalon, and it's widely expected to be the final major content season for BO7 before Activision shifts focus to Modern Warfare 4. Season 06 also delivers the final round-based Zombies map, with the Warden as the closing fight.

What that means practically: if you're at Prestige 2 with eight tokens left, you are not spending all eight. Pick the two or three items that make your next 55-level stretch bearable and ignore the rest of the theory. Worth checking what actually travels forward too — see whether BO7 camos and weapon levels carry over to MW4 before you sink another 100 hours into cosmetics.

On hours: there's no official number for the full climb. One community estimate puts the whole run to Level 1000 at roughly 250–400+ hours for most players, less if you stack Double XP in high-XP modes. Treat that as a ballpark, not gospel.

Common mistakes

  • Spending token 1 in the first hour of Prestige 1. There's no timer. Sit on it until you know your loadout.
  • Unlocking a gun you own a Blueprint for. Free unlock, wasted token.
  • Picking sub-Level-40 items. You re-earn those in two or three sessions of objective modes.
  • Forgetting Optics already persist. Optic attachments remain permanently unlocked once obtained through weapon Prestige, so never token one.
  • Chasing a meta gun. Balance patches move; a Level 53 perk or wildcard doesn't get nerfed out of relevance nearly as often.
  • Ignoring the Prestige Master cliff. Everything unlocks there anyway, so tokens saved past Prestige 10 are tokens thrown away.

Ten tokens, ten irreversible decisions, and a 55-level reset between each one — that's a long stretch of re-grinding perks you already earned once. If you'd rather skip the reset treadmill and spend your BO7 time on camos and Zombies instead, our BO7 Prestige and account leveling boostfrom $4.90 moves you up the ladder with you in the lobby and in control of your account.
